Cambridge City – Marlene Sue Klopfer, 81, of Cambridge City passed away the evening of March 16th, 2026, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana after a brief illness. A daughter of the late Clayton and Martha Klopfer, Marlene was born on November 23rd, 1944. She grew up in the Fountain City area before moving to Cambridge City, where she spent most of her life. She worked several years at the CVS Drug Store in Cambridge City. Marlene enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, sewing, and pranking with her friends and family. She will be remembered as a wonderful mom, amazing homemaker, a friend to all and stranger to no one, who loved unconditionally.
Survivors include her two children, Kimberly (Bruce) Olson and Brian House; Grandchildren Bridia (Chris) Morgan, Tyler (Lex) House; Great Grandchildren Michael, Conner, Aria, Arlyn, Jude and Shelby; other friends and family include, Vicky (Larry and son, Cory); friends, Jackie, Terry and Ricky; Nieces, Tammy, Sheri and Amy; Nephew, Rick.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack, Dick and Bill Klopfer; her daughter-in-law, Dena Rae House.
In accordance with Marlene’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. Marlene donated her body to the I.U. School of Medicine.
