Obituary

NEW PARIS, OH- Robert L. Turner Sr., 94, passed away Thursday July 2, 2026 at Maple Gardens in Eaton, Ohio. A son of the late Robert L. and Virginia (Harvey) Turner, Robert was born on Fork Mountain, Tennessee on November 8, 1931. Bob grew up near Bentonville, Indiana and graduated from Bentonville High School with the class of 1950. Bob was a Marine Corps veteran and honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict. He had lived in Centerville, Indiana prior to moving to New Paris, Ohio in 1962. Bob was the owner and operator of Turner’s Drywall Construction. He was a member of several veteran’s organizations in Connersville and Richmond, which included being the past commandant of the Whitewater Valley Marine Corps League. Bob loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He played violin for the gospel music group, From the Heart and in his leisure enjoyed reading books.

Survivors include 2 children, Darrin W. Turner of New Paris, OH and Teresa (John) Keiser of New Jersey; many grand and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Nila I. “Pat” (Carey) Turner on June 7, 1990;

3 sons, Daniel W. “Danny” Turner on May 9, 1981, Robert L. Turner Jr. on February 14, 2009 and David S. Turner on October 6, 2025; 4 siblings, Roscoe Herb, John W. and L. Richard “Dick” Turner and Kathleen “Kathy” Rosemeyer.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Thursday July 9, 2026 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 1993 Cumberland Street- Dublin, Indiana 47335. Burial with military honors will follow at Bentonville Cemetery in Bentonville, Indiana.
