He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Glen Allen, and his three sisters, Sylvia, Rosalyn, and Sonia.

He leaves behind his son Bobby and wife Dennett, his daughter Julie and her husband Curt Keen, and his treasured grandchildren Chelsea and husband Tim, Nikki and husband Joe, Nathan and wife Gabby, Kagen, Lexi, Grant, Matthew, Bo, and Lilly. Roy's legacy also lives on in his six great-grandchildren: Luke, Ellie, Seth, Ollie, Colt, and Tate.
A proud patriot, Roy served his country with honor in the Army from 1966 to 1968. Stationed in Germany as an E5 communications operator, he exemplified dedication and commitment to his duties. After his military service, Roy took a job as a GTE lineman, with Montgomery Ward, and Ford. Later he would find his passion in becoming an Advanced EMT and owning/operating the KARE ambulance service. He also became the Assistant Chief at Milton Volunteer Fire Department and led others by being the County Training Officer for Indiana Fire Safety. In 2005, he finished his working career at Residential CRF as a caregiver. He continued to serve his community as a member of Zions Lutheran Church in Pershing, where he found strength and solace in his faith.
Roy's life was enriched by his love for gardening and canning, passions he shared with his family. He took immense pride in watching his family grow, finding joy in the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Roy had a natural gift for bringing smiles and laughter to those around him.
