Obituary

PERSHING- Jimmie Ray “Jim” Parker. 60, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning July 22, 2026 at home while surrounded by his loving family. Jim grew up in Connersville and attended school there. He had lived in Florida as a young adult and has since made his home in Pershing and Wayne County, Indiana. Jim worked in construction and primarily was a drywall finisher. He was well known for his excellent drywall work. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, canoeing, and never missed an opportunity to float down the river with a cold one and his friends.

Survivors include his 3 daughters, Amber (Tucker) Hunt, Melissa (Josh) Abrantes and Mary Parker; 2 stepsons, Jesse and Eric Hebel; 4 grandchildren, Jaxyn and Raylyn Hunt, Natalie Claborn and Kynleigh Abrantes; 4 siblings, Rick, Jerry and Lynn Parker and Karen Martin; special friends, Molly and Tammy; nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh Rondal Parker and Mary Florence (Warner) Brown; infant sister, Debbie Parker and sister, Mary Evelyn Alsioury.

A Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday July 28, 2026 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.

Jim’s untimely passing has created financial hardship for his family. Please consider a memorial contribution to the funeral home in lieu of a floral arrangement or sympathy gift.
