BENTONVILLE- Wayne Alford McKee, 81, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning August 4, 2026 at his home in rural Bentonville with family at his side. A son of the late William G. and Hazel Laverne (Alford) McKee, Wayne was an early Christmas gift to his parents as he was born at home near Bentonville, Indiana on December 23, 1944. A lifelong resident of the Bentonville community, Wayne attended school at Bentonville and Dublin. Wayne was employed for over twenty-five years at PROKO Industries in Cambridge City and retired from Farmers Grain in Pershing. He was a past member of the Bentonville Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed collecting and working on antique tractors.

Survivors include 2 siblings, Delita Grace (James) Craig and Eddie McKee; nephew, Thomas McKee Jr.. He was preceded in death by his father on April 21, 1978; his mother on September 22, 1978 and his brother, Thomas William McKee Sr. on November 15, 2001.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Saturday August 8, 2026 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Darrell Bertram will officiate. Burial will follow at Bentonville Cemetery.
