Richmond – Phyllis Ray Hoblit, 83, passed away the afternoon of August 11, 2026, after a short illness at Reid Health in Richmond. A daughter of the late Benjamin Merit and Helen (Vickers) Hoblit, Phyllis was born in Mckee, Kentucky on May 25th, 1943. She graduated from Jackson County High School in Kentucky and eventually retired from Hyster-Yale Inc. in Berea Kentucky. Phyllis has been a member of the Richmond community for the past 10 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Marc) Poe of Richmond and Nancy (Bill Heteseimer) Carroll of Kennesaw, Georgia; two grandchildren, Brandon Allen and David Carroll.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Abrams, who passed away in March of 1985; grandson, Jason Edwards; two sisters, Patricia Hoblit Edwards and infant Betty Hoblit; two brothers, Sonny Vickers and Charles Neal Harrison.

In accordance with Phyllis’ wishes, no public services will be held. After cremation, Phyllis will be taken home to Kentucky and buried at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Bradshaw. She will be laid to rest next to her mother, father and other family members.
