CAMBRIDGE CITY- Wesley E. Crabtree, 66, passed away unexpectedly at his home early Saturday morning December 11, 2021. A son of the late Walter W. and Jessie Ann (Troxell) Crabtree Jr., Wesley was born in Monticello, Kentucky on October 22, 1955. As a teenager, Wes moved to Rush County Indiana with his family and he graduated from Rushville High School. He moved to Milton in the early 1970’s and has made his home in the Western Wayne community ever since. Wes was a talented painter and auto body repairman. He had worked for Don Bowne and also operated his own shop in Cambridge City for several years. He then began Crabtree Tree Service which he operated until an automobile accident left him disabled. Wes loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed coon hunting, tracking the dogs on a crisp cool night and listening to them howl as they chased their prey.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, the former Deborah Lynn Bradford. They were married on February 13, 1983 in Dublin by her uncle Andy Bradford; 5 daughters, Tracy and Billie Crabtree, Brandie Burris, Tina Sharp and Brandi Bowne; grandchildren, Skylar Mikesell, Colten Stegner, Autumn Gragg, Karly Underwood, Kyrah and Sydnee Haggard, Jasmine Click, Chloee Bowne, Hailie Asher and Trenton Brown; 5 great grandchildren; 5 siblings, Virginia Haler, Rick Crabtree, Rebecca Harris, Pam Gregory and Sandra Noland; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be at 12 noon on Friday December 17, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday December 16th at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Online condolences can be made at www.marshallanderleweinfuneralhome.com
