RICHMOND- Trent Donald Davis, 58, passed away at his home in Richmond, Indiana. He was born on October 10th, 1964, in New Castle, Indiana, the son of Ronald L. Davis and Silvia Bowman-Hamilton. He started school in Milton and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1983. From a young child, he wanted to be a truck driver, he pursued his dream and graduated from truck driving school with honors in 1987 and began his lifelong career in trucking. He saw most of our country and much of Canada in his career. Trent was a quiet man but if you asked him anything about cars, planes and especially trains, preferably steam engines, he knew a lot about those things. His favorite vacation was going to West Virginia and riding a big steam engine called, “Shay.”
Trent was honored in 1999 for being a 1million mile safe driver by the company he worked for. By the time of his death, he was over a 3million mile safe driver.
Trent is survived by his father and stepmother, Ronald and Pam Davis; his mother, Silvia Bowman-Hamilton; his sister, Angela (Alan) Manious; and his constant companion his dog, Claire; nephews, Jacob Codi and Charles Manious; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Trent was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lowell and Lois Davis and Donald and Iole Helmsing; stepfathers, Arden Bowman and Bob Hamilton.
As per Trent’s wishes, he was buried privately with a family graveside service on Friday October 13th, 2023, at Westside Cemetery in Milton, Indiana, with Scott Moistner officiating.
