Teresa Helton

Teresa L. Helton, 71, of New Castle passed Thursday evening, October 16th, 2025. 

Teresa was born in New Castle, Indiana on October 2nd, 1954, and spent the vast majority of her life in Henry County.  She was a member of the Class of 1973 at Tri High School.

While raising her children Teresa was a stay-at-home mom and housewife and went on to work at New Castle Clinic once they were grown.  She enjoyed working in the garden and canning, many crafts, and sitting on her back porch watching the birds and other wildlife.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Geneva (Caudill) Nease, and her son Joseph “Joey” Borden.

Left to treasure her memory are her husband, Steve Helton of New Castle; her children; Eric (Barb) Carr of Elizabethtown, KY.  Sandy York of Muncie; bonus children, Joni (Brian) Edstene of New Castle, and Steve Helton of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren Michael (Rachel) Kline of Muncie, Johnny Prince of Muncie, Eleanor and Emma Carr of Elizabethtown, Brandon (McKinzie) Edstene, Ben "Benzilla!" Edstene, and Abby Leigh (Devin) Edstene-Wolf; great grandchildren, Ayrianna Armstong, Maeve and Beck Edstene.  Also, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a private burial at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland, Indiana. A memorial service for family and friends will be scheduled at a later time.
