Tanny Triplitt Obituary

PENDLETON- Tanny George Triplitt, 80, passed away on Friday evening August 25, 2023. A son of the late Charles Floyd and Estella M. (Rhodes) Triplitt, Tanny was born in Zanesville, Ohio on September 21, 1942. He was a graduate of Windsor High School in Stockport, Ohio with the class of 1960. Formerly of the Milton and Cambridge City communities, Tanny has made his home in the Markleville-Pendelton area for several years. He served in the United States Army National Guard.  Tanny began his career in telecommunications on September 1, 1960, and worked as a Telecommunications Engineer for Time-Warner Telecom and most recently VS Engineering. Tanny had 15 years of fire service at Milton Volunteer Fire Department. During his years on the Department, he served as Assistant Chief and looked forward to being “Tanny Clause” during the Christmas holiday and calling BINGO. He also was Milton Town Marshal and coached little league baseball in Cambridge City.

Survivors include 3 children, Kelley (Michael) Huck, Holly (Darl) Hann and Eric (Melissa) Triplitt; 2 stepchildren, Karita McDaniel-Hamm and Larry (Carrie) McDaniel Jr.; 19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Connie Garber-Lester.

Tanny was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Roxana Jean (Rollins) Triplitt on April 26, 2008. They were married on September 13, 1976.; 3 half-sisters, Lorna (Triplitt) Dover-Spike, Kay (Triplitt) Clouse and Rosie (Triplitt) Thompson; nephew, Darrin Hutchins.

Tanny would like to extend a loving “Thank You” to his grandson, Joshua Cupp and Jordan Duebel in appreciation for their assistance and care over the past several years.

           Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home has been entrusted with the cremation. Memorial Services will be held at a future date. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery in Milton.
