RICHMOND- Shirley Ann Terhaar, 68, passed away Saturday evening at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. Shirley was born in London, Kentucky on April 10, 1954, and moved to Richmond, Indiana from East Burnstadt, Kentucky in 1958. She attended Richmond High School and had worked in housekeeping at Holiday Inn, Absocold and Paragon Casket. Shirley enjoyed genealogy research, cooking clubs, fishing and being an Avon and Tupperware representative. She liked to travel and being in the company of her dog. Shirley’s most favorite time was spent with or talking to her grandchildren. She was a member of Fellowship Church of Richmond.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Rodger Dean Terhaar. They were married in Greens Fork on August 25, 1990; daughter, Dianna (Robert) Johnson; mother, Virginia I. (Woodall) Thomas; 6 grandchildren, Kennedy, Brittany, Ashley, Christina, Donnie Jr., and Josie; 8 great grandchildren; 6 siblings, Ernie (Jeanann), Dennis (Julie), Rick, William “Willie” and Roger Thomas and Betty (James) Winters; several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Olaf Ray Thomas; son, Sonney Martin; granddaughter, Sidney Ann Ledbetter; sister, Peggy Robinson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday March 23, 2023, at Fellowship Church of Richmond- 655 Salisbury Road South/ Richmond, IN 47374. Pastor David McQueen will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion’s Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing.
