Peggy McCutcheon

Peggy Ann McCutcheon, 82, of Bentonville died Friday, October 13, 2023 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana following a brief illness.

Born in 1941 to Horace Lee and Dorothy Anna (Walters) Judy, she graduated from Bentonville Junior High School in 1955, Connersville High School in 1959, and the Marion County General Hospital School of Nursing, where she was President of the class of 1962.

Despite briefly living in Connersville, Columbia City, Indianapolis, and Cleveland, she lived the majority of her life in Bentonville. An accomplished pianist, she received piano lessons from the late Faye Vanderbeck and used that gift every Sunday as she played the piano for 55 years at the Bentonville Christian Church.

Peggy was a familiar presence in the community, serving customers at Bentonville Farm Supply, Fayette County Co-Op, and Audree’s Dress Shop where she was an assistant manager.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Jack, son Matthew of Indianapolis, and granddaughter Kaylyn Mundt-Davis (Andrew) of Dunkirk, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James Ryan Mundt, brothers MacKenzie Lee (Darlene) Judy and Joseph Stanley Judy, along with her parents.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Bentonville Ebenezer Christian Church, 7495 East 1200 North in Lewisville, IN. Pastor Don Miller will officiate. Burial will follow with a special service at the site of the former Bentonville Christian Church.
