Paul "Bus" Copeland

NEW CASTLE- Paul C. “Bus” Copeland, 94, passed away Thursday evening July 28, 2022 at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.  A son of the late Carroll and Gladys (Chew) Copeland, Paul was born on July 30, 1927 in Spiceland, Indiana.  He graduated from Spiceland High School in 1945 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II, from January 1946 – April 1947. Bus married the former Myra A. Hayes in Spiceland on June 30, 1951. Together they operated Hutchison Tire Store in Naples, Florida for many years and returned to Indiana in 2006.

Bus was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Myra Copeland on May 19, 2006; their bulldog Missy; his 2nd wife, Maxine White, whom he married in 2013; all his siblings, William, Max, James, Dale, Richard, Jonell Green and Carolyn Addison.

          Survivors include several nieces and nephews; sisters in-law, Betty Gardner and Margie McCarty of Florida, and by the “Breakfast Boys” whose company he greatly enjoyed.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday August 1, 2022 at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Memorial Contributions can be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
