Ola Mullikin

CONNERSVILLE – Ola Jeleen Mullikin, 87, passed away in the early morning hours at Reid Hospital in Richmond on Thursday, December 14th, 2023. Ola was born October 30th, 1936, in McKee, Kentucky, to David and Ina (Rose) Hatfield. She grew up in Fairview, Indiana and graduated with the class of 1954 from Fairview High School. On September 24, 1954, she married the love of her life, John F. Mullikin. They lived in Connersville most of their lives. Ola worked as a telephone operator, typist, and receptionist, in addition to raising children. She attended and became a member of the Fairview Christian Church. In her leisure time, Ola enjoyed gardening, reading, being in nature, going to the ocean, and being around family as much as possible. She loved her family dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jerry Mullikin on August 29th, 2016; siblings, Wanda Davis, and Jerrel Hatfield.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, John F. Mullikin Sr.; four children, John Mullikin Jr., Jane (Marie DeerHeart) Sickels, Judy (Reggie) Houston, Jeff (Deana) Mullikin; grandchildren, Doug Sickels, Erica (Keith) White, Jeremy (Anna) Mullikin, Chris (Jennifer), Jason and Michael Houston, Mandy (Charlie) Selm, and Samantha (Tony) Steiner; Great grandchildren, Keirsten, Kelsey and Kenzie White, Maverick, Briggs, Canyon and Hartford Mullikin, Johnathon and Olivia Houston, Karlie, Kaley, and Kylie Selms, Quinn and Marlaina Steiner; and a sister, Linda (Leonard) Ashwell.

Upon Ola Mullikin’s wishes, Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, has been entrusted with her services. A private family gathering will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial at Fairview Cemetery on a later date.
