PHILOMATH- Mary Frances Barnhizer, 85, passed away Monday evening October 26, 2020 at Whitewater Commons Nursing Home in Liberty, Indiana. A daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Aton) Keller, Mary was born in Connersville, Indiana on March 21, 1935. Mary grew up on a farm near Falmouth and graduated from Connersville High School. She has made her home in Union County since 1964. A homemaker, Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed collecting rocks, gardening, bird watching and mushroom hunting. She was a “crafter” and made many rugs and quilts.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William Vern Barnhizer on December 5, 2013. They were married on November 28, 1953; daughter, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Davis on January 8, 2013; granddaughter, Maggie Blue; brother, John Keller.
Survivors include 3 children, Jim (Karla) Barnhizer of Liberty, Sue (Tracey) Anderson of Granger and Rebecca (Bill) Blue of Centerville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 siblings, Larry (Nancy) Keller and Mike (Rickie) Keller both of Connersville, Kathy Keller of Richmond; son in-law, Gary Davis; sister in-law, Joan Keller.
Mary’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the administration, staff and hospice group at Whitewater Commons for the care and respect given to their mom.

Due to COVID19 concerns there will be no public services. Following cremation at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, private interment will be at Doddridge Chapel Cemetery in rural Centerville.
