Lloyd Walker Obituary

CAMBRIDGE CITY-  Lloyd E. Walker, 86, passed away Tuesday evening July 8, 2025 at his home with his loved ones at his side.  One of five children born to the late Joe and Kathryn (Holiday) Walker, Lloyd was born in Hazard, Kentucky on December 26, 1938.  He was raised in Hamilton, Ohio and while working at AVCO in Richmond he met his future bride, Betty Gabbard.  They were married in Richmond on April 25, 1964 and made their home in Dublin.  After four years of marriage, they moved west of town to their current home.  After several employers, Lloyd eventually was hired by Chrysler Corp. in New Castle and retired in 1996 after more than twenty-seven years of service in skilled trades.  Lloyd was a model train enthusiast and enjoyed building layout tables for his collection.  He was a member of the Western Wayne Railroaders and enjoyed classic cars.  Lloyd loved to spend time with his family, trips to Lake Cumberland and for twenty years being a “Snow Bird” and spending winters in Florida with Betty. 

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Betty, 2 sons, Rob and Lonnie Walker; 7 grandchildren, Nathan, Justin, Rachel, Ariel, Bradley, Megan and Ashley; 22 great grandchildren; 4 siblings, Lou (Ling) Walker, Linda (Jim) Elliott, Kathy (Kevin) Foskett and Diane Mikesell; nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 3 p.m. on Saturday July 19, 2025 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.  Dan Gabbard will officiate.  Burial will be at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin at the convenience of the family.
