CAMBRIDGE CITY- Lloyd Raymond Stamper, 72, passed away Tuesday evening August 6, 2024 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. A son of the late Van and Evelyn (Waters) Stamper, Lloyd was born in New Castle, Indiana on May 11, 1952. Lloyd was raised in the Lewisville and Seymour communities and graduated from Chrysler High School in New Castle. He earned a bachelor’s degree from ITT Technical Institute in Electronics. Lloyd honorably served his country in the United States Army while being stationed in Germany for several years. He worked as an electrical engineer and retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle. Lloyd loved to play video games with his granddaughter and ride his Gold Wing motorcycle. In his leisure, Lloyd enjoyed photography, flying RC Airplanes and model trains.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, the former Julie Stevens. They were married in Georgetown, Kentucky on March 3, 2005; 5 children, Kim Inman, Michael Stamper, Lloyd (Katrina) Stamper Jr., Jessica (Molly) Sons and Justine (Justin) Sons; 6 grandchildren, Julia, Ethan, Eric, Jonathon, Kaylee and Josh; 2 siblings, Dennis (Susan) Stamper and Paula (Danny) Thomas; 3 nieces, Monica Coffey, Arden Ailes and Caylie (Wes) Dicken; 2 nephews, Cory (Amber) Owens and Cody (Amanda) Stamper; multiple great nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by and infant daughter; 2 brothers; 2 sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at noon on Saturday August 10, 2024 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Bill Palmer will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted by contingents of the United States Army Honor Guard assisted by the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169. Cremation will follow.
