Linda Ross Obituary

CAMBRIDGE CITY-  Linda L. Ross, 74, went to her heavenly home Wednesday morning December 8, 2021 to help decorate for Christmas.  A daughter of the late Roy E. and Esther Mae (Clark) Matthews, Linda was born in New Castle, Indiana on June 25, 1947.  A lifetime resident of Cambridge City and the Western Wayne community, Linda was a graduate of Lincoln High School.  She retired from Visteon (Philco-Ford) in Connersville after more than 30 years of service.  Linda enjoyed decorating her home for all the holidays and any special occasion.  She liked to spend time outside gardening and working in her yard.  Linda attended the Milton Christian Church with Melissa and David Dillon as their surrogate grandmother and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a member of the Indianapolis Hosta Society and the Red Hat Society. Linda married Richard Lee Ross in Gatlinburg, Tennessee on March 25, 1989. Together they enjoyed traveling in their motor home, visiting nearly all 50 states, and attending Bluegrass Music Festivals.

            Linda is survived by her son, Curtis J. Boyd and his partner, Tony Benner of Indianapolis; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; Cheryl and Dave Sullivan and their son, Ian, and the children and grandchildren of Richard Ross.

            Linda was preceded in death by her husband Richard on October 23, 2018 and her sister, Marianne Roberts-Noland on June 21, 2017.

            Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday December 13, 2021 at Valley Grove Cemetery, south of Milton on State Road 1.
