Lewis Charles Anthony Jr. “Lew” a long-time resident of Cambridge City and Greenwood, Indiana, passed away Wednesday the 29th of October, 2025. He passed peacefully in his sleep after saying he was “Going to go fly his plane into New Castle Airport”. Born June 20th, 1936, in Steubenville, Ohio, Lew and his wife Mary Ellen (Mowry), owned Anthony Foods grocery store in Dublin, Indiana from 1972-1999. He handcrafted many Annual Cambridge City Canal Days parade floats that were enjoyed by many over the years. Lew enjoyed flying his airplanes, woodworking, and providing for his family. There are a great too many wonderful memories to list, but Lew will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Lew is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Mowry); parents, Lewis Charles Anthony Sr. and Beatrice Hazel (Barker); brother, Jerry Anthony; and son, Gregory Anthony.
He is survived by his son, Bruce (Vonda) Anthony; daughter, Janet Lyon and daughter, Judith Kendall; 14 grandchildren. Fly High Dad/Pappy, We Love You!
