LEWISVILLE- Leona Christine Blake, 87, passed away early Tuesday morning November 16, 2021 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Centre in New Castle, Indiana. Leona was born in Slick Ford, near Monticello, Kentucky on June 21, 1934. Formerly of New Castle, Leona has made her home in Lewisville for over sixty years. Leona had been a cook at the Lewisville Hotel and retired from the cafeteria at Tri High School. She loved to spend time with her family. She was a great cook, enjoyed watching game shows and was a huge Cincinnati Reds fan.
Survivors include 4 children, Terri (Dave) Butler, Vickie Vaccaro, Helen (Bob) Rust and Chad Blake; grandchildren, Hope (Aaron) Stevens, Angie Butler, Kylie (Art) Claar, Anthony (fiancée, Tiffany Page) Vaccaro, Lane (fiancée, Mikala Betz) Rust, Breanna Rust, Shelby (Zach) Lowhorn and Chris (fiancée, Rayann Jefferis) Blake; 7 great grandchildren with 1 on the way.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, George Buck and Bonnie (Pyle) Abbott; her husband of 30 years, Charles Wallace Blake on November 28, 1984. They were married in Lewisville on November 4, 1954; 6 siblings, Carson Buck, Robert and Ralph Champion, Nell Edwards, Hazel Miller and Alene Beasley; a half brother, Shirley Buck.
Visitation will be at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville, from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Friday November 19, 2021. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery.
