Larry Gene Maiola Jr.

RICHMOND-  Larry Gene Maiola Jr., 62, passed away early Sunday morning October 13, 2024 at Reid Health in  Richmond, Indiana. Larry was born in Springfield, Ohio on October 3, 1962.  He graduated from high school in Ocala, Florida and has made his home in the Richmond community since 1971.  Larry liked people, joking around and having fun with his friends and family.  In his leisure, Larry enjoyed auto racing, especially round track dirt racing and attending the Winchester 400.  He worked in the family business at Discount Muffler in Richmond.  His brother Tony said Larry was the best custom pipe bender in the country and built many custom exhausts for hot rods throughout the years.

            Survivors include his mother, Karen C. (Parks) Maiola; wife, Nikki Maiola; 2 sons, Dexter and Roger Maiola; 2 grandchildren, Airianna and Draven Maiola; 2 brothers, Tony and Brian Maiola; nieces and nephews. 

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Larry Maiola Sr. on February 6, 1996 and his sister, Holly Burwick on August 23, 2006.

Larry wished to be memorialized privately. No services are planned at this time.  

Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, has been entrusted with his cremation.
