John Joseph “Jay” Frazier, 74, passed away early Wednesday morning October 25, 2023, at Community North Heart & Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. A son of the late Frederick Wayne and Flora Mae (Thomas) Frazier, Jay was born in New Castle, Indiana on June 10, 1949. He has lived most of his life in the Knightstown area and near Wilkinson since 2004. Jay was a self-employed auto body finisher and owner/operator of Frazier Paint & Trim in Knightstown for several years. He was trusted by many area auto dealerships for the repair of their cars. Jay was a talented “Mr. Fix It”, could do electrical and woodwork, enjoyed the challenge to repair or figure out a better way to do things. In his leisure, Jay liked collecting Lionel Trains, flying RC planes, 50’s and 60’s classic cars, boating and horses. His number one love and priority was his family. He cherished any time spent with them!
Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, the former Patricia Ann Lanigan. Jay and Patty were married at the Friends Church in Knightstown on August 27, 1967; 2 daughters, Pam (Brad LeMasters) Sitton and Jenny (Mike) Pritt; 6 grandchildren, Maddie, Michael (Rachael), Blake, Cori (Clayton), Nick (Kayla), Rachel (John); 8 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Phil Frazier. Jay was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Frazier.
Honoring Jay’s wishes, his life will be celebrated with a family cookout with good food and good memories.
