Jerry Dunaway Sr.

CAMBRIDGE CITY- Jerry Keith Dunaway Sr., 71, passed away early Sunday morning February 9, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Son of the late James and Netta (Centers) Dunaway, Jerry was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 13, 1953. He moved with his family to Fayette County, Indiana in his youth and was raised in the Bentonville area.  On February 4, 1971, he married Brenda Flannery of Cambridge City, and they made the Western Wayne community their home. Jerry worked in retail and was the manager of Long’s Grocery in Richmond for several years. He enjoyed going to auctions, yard sales, collecting antiques and tools.

            Survivors include 3 children, Jerry (Sandy Clark) Dunaway Jr., Melissa (Eric) Triplitt and Duane (Whitney) Dunaway; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 7 siblings, Jesse (Terry) Dunaway, Sue Dunaway, Edward Dunaway, Donald (Larnell) Dunaway, Rachel (Lee) Funkhouser, Gary Dunaway and Anna (Randy) Whittington and many nieces and nephews.

             Jerry was preceded in death by 2 granddaughters, Jessica Burkhardt on May 31, 2024, and Ashley Nicole Dunaway on June 9, 2022; great grandson, Bradley Jake Scott Dunaway on January 29, 2021; brother, Kenneth Dunaway on April 12, 2024.

            Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Thursday February 13, 2025 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.  Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
