Jane Ann Lay

CAMBRIDGE CITY - Jane Ann Lay, 69 went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, July 27, 2025. Born to the late Ralph and Betty (Paul) Lakes, she was born in New Castle, Indiana on October 17th, 1955, and was raised in the Dublin community. She was a 1974 graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City. Jane worked as the branch manager of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Cambridge City for 27 years. She retired from Finish Master in Indianapolis.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Al Lay. They were married in 29 Palms, California on June 14th, 1974. Three children, Nikole (Mat) Spears, Adam (Lynn) Lay, Joshua (Marsha) Lay; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Gettinger and Nancy McNew. Five nieces and 3 nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents. Two sisters, Lana Denise and Joanna Sue Sherwood; three brothers-in-law; Kevin Sherwood, Steven McNew and Wayne Gettinger.

Funeral services for Jane will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 1st, 2025 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Jonathan Willmore of the New Lisbon Christian Church to officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday July 31st from 4-7 p.m.
