RICHMOND-  James Richard Leo, 74, went to his heavenly home on Sunday September 5, 2021.  He was surrounded by his loving children as he was sent to join his wife Shirley in Heaven. James, also known as Jimmy to some and Jim to others, was, born on December 30, 1946 in New Castle, Indiana to the late James Roy and Norma Delberta (Tetrick) Leo. He grew up in Milton, Indiana and attended eleven years of school there and was a member of the first graduating class at Lincoln High School in Cambridge City after consolidation.  Following graduation in 1964, James then enlisted and served his country in the United States Army.  He was a member of the Army Corp of Engineers, completed one tour in Vietnam and returned home with multiple commendations and honors.

            Jim is survived by 3 sisters, Jayne Bultman of Kokomo, Lois Wojtas of Seminole, FL and Sue Moore of Bucyrus, OH; children, Jennifer (Ken) Darnell of Knightstown, Scott (Loris) Leo of Connersville, Tim (Sandy) Leo of Cosby, TN and Troy Leo of Richmond; stepchildren, Tammy Silvers of Connersville, Roger, Bill (Sherri) and Larry (Spencer) Kuhn; grandchildren, Brittany Stalets (Brandon) Hubner of Brownsburg, Makenzie and Marissa Stalets of Indianapolis, Joshua (Chrissy) Harlan and Jonathan Harlan, Daniel S. and Jordan Leo all of Connersville; Kya Leo (Luke) Jones of Broken Arrow, OK, Lindsey (Daniel Stewart) Leo and Daniel J. Leo both of Cosby, TN; many great grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces and nephews are also included in Jim’s family.

            He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Dubois) Leo on January 29, 2019.

             James was a man of God and a member of Go Tell Ministries in West Manchester, Ohio. He became a pastor in 2008 and was ordained in 2010.  His hobbies included fishing, hunting, car racing, flea marketing, attending trade shows, listening to gospel music and reading his bible.  He spent winters in Florida and enjoyed spending time with his family.  Jim was loved and will be missed by many.

            Graveside services with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday September 10. 2021 at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
