Indianapolis- Gerald “Gary” Loman Neuman, 74, passed away Thursday morning, September 14, 2023 at Brickyard Healthcare- Brookview Care Center, in Indianapolis. Gerald was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 6, 1949, he was raised in the Cambridge City and Connersville communities and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1968. Gerald was inducted in the United States Army on April 1, 1969 and received his honorable discharge on March 31, 1971. He was a truckdriver for McClain Trucking for many years and retired from Kroger after 10 years of service. Gerald was a car enthusiast and received the nickname “A.J.”, after A.J. Foyt, for his love of racing. He enjoyed attending car shows and all car racing.
Gerald is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Jean Hall. They had been companions for sixteen years prior to their marriage on August 11, 2022; 1 daughter; 2 brothers, Mahlon (wife, Tanya) and Walter (wife Brenda) Whitaker; cousins, Ellen Ackley and Pam Heine; step children, Geneva Black, Kimberly Ann Cason and Charles Robert Woods Jr.; nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dawn Boles; stepdaughter, Charlene Renee Woods.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday September 20th, 2023 at Valley Grove Cemetery- 6982 S. State Road 1/ Milton, IN 47357. Pastor Scott Moistner will officiate. Family and friends may visit from 12:30 until the time of services at the cemetery.
