George Lewis

  DUBLIN- George Herschel Lewis went to be with our Lord on Thursday, June 22nd , 2023. George was a loving dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and great uncle. He was an avid sports fan, especially IU basketball, Atlanta Braves, and the Indianapolis Colts. George had family and lifelong friends by his side. George graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1990 and went on to attend Ball State University. He served in our military honorably.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Lewis of Dublin; their fur baby Mattie; a son, Cody Lewis of Anderson; a granddaughter, Audreyanna Lewis of New Castle; grandmother in law, Mam (Patty Callis) of Dublin;  brother in law, Kirk Gigliotti of Richmond; three sisters, Mildred Page of Richmond, Michelle Lewis-Fields of Anderson aka “Mitzi” and Claudia Hendrickson of Prescot Arizona; two brothers, Michael Toney of Centerville, Edward Toney of Connersville; Chad Dale friend/brother of Hagerstown; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including his little princess, Kinsley Randolph; and great nephew, Ryder Walker.

George was preceded in death by his mother and father, Beverly Lewis and Sherman Lewis; two brothers, Timothy Toney and Carey Fremont Toney; a sister, Terri Lynn Toney-Orr.

 A celebration of life will be held at the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 in Cambridge City, Indiana, on Saturday, July 1st, 2023, from 2-4p.m..  Military honors will be conducted at 2:30p.m..
