Ed Ervin

PERSHING- Edward “Ed” Earl Ervin, 63, of Pershing, Indiana, passed away at his home on Tuesday May 14th, 2024. Ed was born on September 25th, 1960, in New Castle, Indiana, to Herbert Lynn and Earlene Esther (Lemmons) Ervin. A lifelong resident of the Western Wayne community, Ed graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1979. Ed worked for Rihm’s Foods, Western Wayne Schools, and for Fortman Bros. Inc. He was a licensed electrician and had owned and operated, Ed’s Electric. He met his soulmate, the former, Lora Jane Barnes and was married at her parent’s home on the bridge over the creek, on September 15th, 1990. He referred to himself as a “jack of all trades and master of none” but his family would say that he “mastered” the most important job of being a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandpa. In his free time, Ed enjoyed taking long trips on his Harley Davidson, and had traveled to several states throughout the country.

          Ed is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lora; two sons, Eric and Matthew (Payton) Ervin; one granddaughter, Sophie Ervin; and several nieces and nephews.
          Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Patricia Ann “Patty” Neel, Gail Earlene Haler, and Thomas Lynn “Tom” Ervin.

          Ed wished to be memorialized privately, Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, is honored to be entrusted with Ed’s arrangements.
