SPICELAND- Dora May Blake, 81, passed away while surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday morning October 15, 2024 at Henry Community Health in New Castle, Indiana. A daughter of the late Worth and Dorcas (Baker) Brown, Dora May was born in Dunreith, Indiana on August 7, 1943. Dora May graduated from the Spiceland Academy and had lived most of her life in the Spiceland community. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, Carl Blake, whom she married on February 23, 1964. Dora May was an avid softball player and loved playing and coaching. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her friends and family. Dora May worked at Western Electric and Draper Shade & Screen from where she retired. Dora May attended the Spiceland Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include 3 sons, C. Lee (Deena) Blake Jr., Robert (Cindy) Blake and Wally (Angie) Blake; 5 grandchildren, Vanessa Bookmyer, Evan Carender, Mandy, Lindsey and Levi Blake; several great grandchildren; 3 siblings, Charlie (Sharon) Brown, Charlene (Jim) Williams and Sue O’Conner; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Friday October 18, 2024 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel.
