CAMBRIDGE CITY- Don Dudley, 85, born on October 29, 1937, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday morning July 26, 2023. Don was born in New Castle, Indiana and grew up in New Lisbon where he graduated high school. He has lived most of his adult life in the Cambridge city community. Don was one of six children and served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 – 1960. He married the former Glenita “Cookie” Sorah in Lewisville on February 18, 1962. Don loved kayaking, fishing, softball, woodworking, watching baseball and football. The thing he enjoyed most was time spent with family. He retired from Amedco Casket in Richmond and was able to enjoy a lengthy retirement.
Survivors include 2 children, Danette Addison of Cambridge City and Dean Dudley of Richmond; granddaughter, Dana (Dudley) Henderson and family of Connersville, granddaughter, Amber (Addison) Plough and family of Rushville, grandson, Aaron Addison and family of Hagerstown; great grandchildren, Garren and Eli of Connersville; 2 siblings, Delores Mays of Richmond and Margaret Azbill of Richmond.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years at the time of her passing on December 24, 2014; parents, Lillie Elizabeth (Meredith) Grau and Harold Dudley; 3 siblings, Gerald and Fred Dudley and Betty Jean Reese.
Following cremation, a memorial visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday August 5, 2023 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your local animal shelter. With your help, Don and his family would love to save as many animals as possible.
