CAMBRIDGE CITY- Richard Jay “Dick” Setser, 77, left this world on Saturday afternoon September 23, 2023 while surrounded by a lot of love and entered his heavenly home free of pain and breathing sweet celestial air. Dick was born in Richmond, Indiana to the late George and Helen (Collier) Setser on January 23, 1946. He grew up on a farm near Greens Fork, Indiana and graduated from Hagerstown High School and attended Purdue University for two years. He was drafted and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Dick returned home to work the family farm. He married the love of his life, the former Patty Huntsman, at the Dublin Friends Church on October 26, 1968 and the newlyweds moved to the Cambridge City area. Dick worked as a supervisor for Richmond Overhead Door for over twenty years and was also owner operator of Setser Electric. Dick was always a farmer at heart and enjoyed helping Bruce Edwards and Dan Lamberson with their farming operations. He did some fishing and was a “Mr. Fix It” but most of all he loved to spend his free time with his family and many friends. Dick’s greatest joy were his daughters and grandchildren who he loved unconditionally! His memberships include the Hagerstown American Legion Post #333 and the Milton Lodge #108.
