Debbie Houghland

DUBLIN- Debbie Houghland, 73, passed away late Friday afternoon, October 20, 2023 at Henry Community Health in New Castle, Indiana. A daughter of the late Wilmer and Anna “Helen” (Loos) Schube, Debbie was born in Connersville, Indiana on December 10, 1949.  She grew up in Connersville and graduated from high school there with the class of 1968.  Debbie worked several years at Fayette Memorial Hospital, first as a Certified Nursing Assistant and then as a medical transcriptionist. She retired from Mauger’s Group Home where she was the house manager. Debbie had lived in the Cambridge City community for twenty years prior to moving to Dublin.  Debbie enjoyed setting up her own yard sales at her previous home on State Road 1 and here in Dublin, where she has lived for the past five years.  She supported her family and loved to attend the sporting events of her grandsons.

          Debbie is survived by her husband of five years, Robert “Bob” Houghland. They were married in Richmond, Indiana in April of 2018. 1 daughter, Stacy (Dill) Linderman; 2 grandsons, Zachary and Aidan Linderman; 2 stepsons, Scott and James Houghland.

          Debbie was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Dill on May 6, 1998; 1 brother, Bruce Schube in July of 1990.

          A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Cremation has been entrusted to Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home.
