Cheryl Lewis Obituary

Straughn - Cheryl Lewis, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 10, 2024, at the age of 56, after a courageous battle with lung and brain cancer. She was born on August 28, 1968, in Miami, Florida, and later moved to Straughn, Indiana, where she spent much of her life. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones.

Cheryl was the proud mother of Garrett Lewis and Chelsea McKinney, and the cherished grandmother of Kendrick Wright. She is also survived by her twin brother, Dave Lewis, her devoted husband of 18 years, Michael Pierce and step-daughter, Jennifer Griffin.

Known for her vibrant, larger-than-life personality, Cheryl was a true social butterfly who never met a stranger. Her infectious laugh, big heart, and love for life made her a beloved friend to many. Cheryl had a passion for music, especially Ozzy Osbourne, and loved to have fun and celebrate with those closest to her. She had an uncanny ability to bring people together, making everyone feel welcome and loved.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and James Lewis, but her legacy lives on through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was the best mother and friend, and her love and warmth will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel.

Cheryl’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and she will be deeply missed. She is now at peace, but her spirit and the joy she brought into the world will never fade.
