DUBLIN- Charles Franklin Wampler, 99, of rural Cambridge City, Indiana, passed away Sunday morning, January 30th, 2022, at Forest Park Health Campus in Richmond, Indiana. A son to the late Franklin Elmer and Clara Alice (Rhoades) Wampler. Charles was born on October 24th, 1922, in Henry County, Indiana. Charles spent his life as a farmer, a member of the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren with over 60 years of faithful attendance. Charles was a loving husband of 67 years to Wovie (Gay) Wampler, they were married on June 30th, 1954, in Cambridge City, Indiana. Charles was also a dedicated family man to not only his two sons, but to his cherished grandkids and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his swife Wovie; two sons, Donald F. (Janet) Wampler, Robert (Debra) Wampler; five grandsons, Shawn (Toni) Wampler, Ryan (Derika) Wampler, Kevin (Clara) Wampler, Darrel Wampler, and Allen (Tiffany) Wampler; nine great- grandchildren, Charles (Lori) Wampler, Kasey (Jesse) Tyree, Josh (Makayla) Wampler, Caden Wampler, Brantley Wampler, Alex Wampler, Brenna (Tim) Reed, Austin Wampler, and Ashley Wampler; five great-great grandchildren.
Charles is preceded in death by; a three-month old daughter, Sharon Wampler, who passed away in 1944; and two brothers, Ivan, and Russell Wampler.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday February 1st, 2022, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Tim Webb will officiate.
