Billy Pierce Obituary

LEWISVILLE-  Billy Robert “Bucky” Pierce, 73, passed away Tuesday morning July 28, 2020 at his home in New Castle.  A son of the late Billy L. and Arthela Ann (McConnell) Pierce, Billy was born in New Castle, Indiana on July 17, 1947 and has lived his entire life in Lewisville and Henry County. He was a graduate of Lewisville High School with the class of 1966.  Billy worked for 50 years at Hartley Truck Parts. He enjoyed auto racing, old cowboy movies and most importantly spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, the former Delilah J. Snyder.  They were high school sweethearts and were married in New Castle on February 17, 1968; 2 sons, Allan L. (Kim) Pierce and Douglas R. (Holly) Pierce; 4 grandchildren, Katelyn, Sydney, Abigail and Andrew; 1 great granddaughter, Charlotte; 3 siblings, Johnny and George Pierce and Brenda (Donald) Ewing; several nephews and 2 nieces.

Billy was preceded in death by his father on September 14, 2010; his mother on January 17, 2014; sister, Phyllis Ann Jones on October 22, 2000; and an infant brother, Ernest Glenn Pierce.

A time to remember and celebrate Billy’s life will be held at his home after 1 p.m. on Sunday August 9, 2020. Friends and family are asked to bring a lawn chair and memory to share. Refreshments will be served.

 Following cremation at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, burial will be at Lewisville Cemetery.
