OGDEN- Beulah L. “Juel” Shepherd, 98, a resident of Ogden, entered into Heaven to be with Jesus, on Saturday afternoon November 13, 2021 with her family by her side. A daughter of the late Leslie and Rena (Johnson) Caudill, she was born in Rowan County (near Morehead) Kentucky on April 5, 1923. Beulah attended Spiceland High School. She was a faithful member of Ogden United Methodist Church from 1960-2012, where she was active in helping with Bible Study and the Women’s Society. Everyone who met Beulah could see Jesus’ love shine through her. She worked at Chrysler Corporation during the war and retired from Indiana Knitwear in Greenfield in 1982 after 22 years of service.
Beulah married Lloyd Marvin Shepherd in Rushville, Indiana on November 23, 1943 and they shared 34 years together before his death on June 4, 1977. She was also preceded in death by a son, Marvin D. Shepherd on July 16, 1991; daughter in-law Sue Shepherd on July 7, 2019; 5 siblings, Chalmer, Everett and Ray Caudill, Geneva Lewman and Emma Schweikhardt.
Survivors include 3 children, William (Sue) Shepherd of Greenfield, Darrell and Marcia Shepherd both of Ogden; daughter in-law, Cindy Shepherd of Knightstown; 2 siblings, Ruth Williams of Dunreith and Leonard Caudill of S. Carolina; grandchildren, Carla (Sherri Hadsell) Moore of Indianapolis, Kim Shepherd of New Castle, Paula (Bill) Hasty of New Castle, Kevin (Makala Holiday) Shepherd of Greenfield; great grandchildren, Tori (Savion Brown) and Brianna Moore both of Indianapolis, Tyla Smith of Greenfield, Isaiah (Camry Hinsey) Shepherd, and Marvin Russell Hasty both of New Castle; great-great grandchildren, Ryder Ray and Dawson Scott Shepherd and her first great-great granddaughter, Hailyn Marie Shepherd all of New Castle; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Friday November 19, 2021 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Reverends Carol Wiley and Gene Bennett will officiate. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
