NEW CASTLE- Wesley F. Shears Jr., 83, passed away on Thursday morning July 25, 2013 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville, Indiana. A son of the late Wesley F. Shears Sr. and Lola Mae (Reece) Shears-Dishman, Wesley was born in Dayton, Ohio on Christmas Day, 1929. Wesley served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1947. Wesley started work for Firestone in 1965 and retired in 1991 from its predecessor Ferodo America in 1991. He received his GED from New Castle Chrysler High School. Survivors include his 4 children, Nancy C. Lowery of New Castle, Judith A (Kip) Clark of Cicero, Gregory F. Shears of Richmond and Kevin L. (Nicole) Shears of Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Herbert L. (Nancy) Shears of Indianapolis. Wesley was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, the former Erma L.Hill; 2 sons, John and Jeffrey Shears; son inlaw, John Lowery; step father, Robert O. Dishman; 2 sisters, Ruby M. Bennett and Annis Davis. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Green Hills Memory Garden in New Castle.
