Cambridge City- Wayman "Max" Overbay, 75 passed away on Saturday morning March 14, 2009 at Lincoln Center Nursing Home in Connersville after an extended illness. A son of the late Wayman B. and Gladys M. Shields Overbay, Max was born near Economy, Indiana on October 7, 1933. He grew up in the Economy area and moved back to Cambridge City / Mt. Auburn in 1976 from Texas. He worked in construction before becoming disabled from a work injury. Max was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include 5 sons- Keith, Paul and Clint Overbay of Dallas, Texas, Mark Overbay of Dunreith and Randy Overbay of Cambridge City; 3 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 1 brother- Don Overbay of Bordge, Texas; nieces and nephews. Max was preceded in death by his wife the former Jeannine Jobes on January 2, 2002. They were married in Mooresville, Indiana on May 21, 1953. 1 son- Glen Overbay; 2 infant daughters; 1 sister Flora Mae Centers and 2 brothers- Floyd and Cecil Overbay. The Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Following cremation, burial and graveside services will be at Nettle Creek Cemetery, near Dalton, Indiana, at the convenience of the family.
