CAMBRIDGE CITY - Walter R Heaston, age 80, passed away on December 22, 2015 in North Little Rock, Arkansas with his daughter by his side. He was born on August 24, 1935 to Raymond Heaston Sr. and Ida Loretta (Favorite) Heaston in Jacksonburg, Indiana. His wife Mary Lou (Shaw) Heaston preceded him in death, they were married on November 18, 1967. He is survived by 8 children, 4 siblings, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His mother, father, 2 children, and 7 siblings preceded him in death. Walter lived his life pursuing what he saw as the American dream. His patriotism drove him to serve in the Indiana National Guard from 1953-1958. He provided for his 10 children with the prideful, arduous occupation as a welder for over 50 years. He enjoyed family, hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing, Indianapolis Colts football, tinkering on anything with an engine, and his dog/s. His unique, witty humor and intellect throughout the years served as a focal point of amusement for his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; providing a smile for anyone in need, including strangers! He probably still owes most of his grandchildren money for all the times they combed his hair for a quarter! In closing, he would want to give one more smile and anyone who knows him will know the answer to this question: Do you think it will work??!! Family and friends may gather from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Following cremation, a graveside service with military honors provided by the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Riverside Cemetery, Cambridge City.
