NEW LISBON- Virginia Littrell-Hix, 98, passed away Sunday morning August 6, 2023, at Addison Place in New Castle, Indiana where she was cared for by a generous and loving staff.  Virginia was born on January 31, 1925 in Pulaski County, Kentucky to the late James Isaac and Omia (Burton) Clark. Her family moved to New Castle where she graduated from high school.  She married Clyde O. Littrell on August 3, 1946.  They bought a farm near New Lisbon and lived there for fifty years. Clyde passed away on April 28, 2004.  Four years later Virginia married Marvin Hix and they lived in Texas for ten years until his passing on March 16, 2022.  She returned to Indiana and has resided at Addison Place Senior Living.  Virginia's main focus in life was her family.  She loved her husband, children and grandchildren more than anything.  She enjoyed quilting, square dancing and being involved in her children's activities which included 4-H and scouting.

She is survived by her daughter, Myra Littrell (Vernon) Bulmer of Hagerstown; 4 grandchildren, Jeanna M. (Tony) Elza of Hagerstown, Janet L. (Brian) Cain of Connersville, Jessica L. (Josh) Satterfield of New Castle and Jason L. (Amber) Bulmer of Millville; 10 great grandchildren, Ben Elza, Rebeka Briar, Bailey Wells, Zoey Cain, James Crull, Zachary Crull, Luke Satterfield, Corbin Bulmer, Megan Reynolds and Abby Flynn; 5 great-great grandchildren, Roman Elza, Harlyn Briar, Zack Reynolds, Emma Flynn and Allison Flynn; 1 brother, Ernest Gene Clark of Hillsboro; several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was also preceded in death by her son, Clyde Duane Littrell in July of 2018; siblings, Georgia Taylor, Chester, Robert and Dumont Clark.

In recognition of Virginia's love of little children, Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital- 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Private services with burial at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle will be held by the family at a future date.

Cremation has been entrusted to Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home.
