Viot Powell Click, 100, passed away in the early morning hours on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023, at The Springs in Richmond, Indiana. Viot was born in Daniel Boone National Forest, Kerby Knob, Kentucky on December 3rd, 1922, to the late Roy E. and Bertha (Powell) Click. He moved with his family to Wayne County Indiana and graduated from Economy High School. After high school, he served in the United States Navy during World War II on USS Suwannee. He met the love of his life, Mildred M. (Misener) Click, and were married on April 29th, 1944, in Jonesboro, Indiana. After serving in the Navy, Viot worked as a farmer and at Perfect Circle Automotive Company. Viot retired from Queen City Supply Company where he worked as manager of Customer Relations and Parts Supply for the Richmond and Cincinnati locations. Since 2013, Viot had resided at Friends Fellowship Community, where he enjoyed reading the newspapers, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and his afternoon scoop of ice cream.
Viot is survived by his sister – Marjorie, daughter – Nancy, son – Tony (Debbie), son-in-law – Bob, six grandchildren – Amy, Angie, Mike, Becky, Jenny, Steven and ten great-grandchildren – Braydon, Abigale, Carissa, Caitlyn, Lily, Sawyer, Brooks, Emery, Morris and Ruby, and several nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
Viot is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred M. Click (Nov. 27, 2001), and a daughter Marilyn Jo Harrison.
Upon the family's wishes, Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling private arrangements for Viot. In lieu of flowers, donations in Viot's name may be made to Friends Fellowship Endowment Fund at 2030 Chester Boulevard Richmond, IN 47374. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
