CAMBRIDGE CITY- Arnold "Tubby" Bryant, 78, passed away on Monday October 20, 2014 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. A son of the late Donald Keith and Mary Lucille (Weesner) Bryant, Arnold was born at home in Dublin, Indiana on August 25, 1936. He lived his whole life in the Cambridge City area and graduated from Cambridge City High School with the class of 1955. Following high school he graduated from the Indiana Barbers College in Indianapolis and worked at Esquire Barber Shop in Cambridge City for several years. He entered the United States Army in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1961. He worked in supervision for the Ford Motor Company and retired from the Indianapolis plant in 1998 after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Cambridge City Christian Church and the Hagerstown American Legion Post #333. In his leisure, he enjoyed playing cards, fishing, antique tractors and model railroading. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, the former Patricia A. Derrickson whom he married on July 19, 1959 at the Straughn Christian Church. 2 children, Felicia Sue Bryant of Pershing and Terry Allen Bryant of Indianapolis; 2 brothers, Thomas (Judy) Bryant of Milton and Lester (Vona) Bryant of Cambridge City; 2 sisters, Nancy (Ronald) DeWeese of Pershing and Patty Ann (Michael) Gray of Hagerstown; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Dyer of Granite City, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday October 24, 2014 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Danny Berry will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow the the South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday October 23 at the funeral home.
