DUBLIN- Timothy Allen Dungan, 64, passed away on Thursday morning May 23, 2013 at the Dayton V.A. Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Tim was born in New Castle, Indiana on January 17, 1949. Formerly of the Dublin community, Tim has made his home for the past several years in Romance, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City with the class of 1968. Following high school, Tim served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His decorations and medals for his service include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal w/Device, Good Conduct Medal (3), Aircraft Crewman Badge and the Senior Aircraft Crewman Badge. After 11 years of service, Tim was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant on July 3, 1980. Tim attended the Cambridge City Church of the Nazarene and worked as building contractor. Tim is survived by his daughter, Angala (Scott) Russo of Dublin; 6 grandchildren, Steven Russell, Jeremy Allen and Alexis Anastasia DeHart, Danielle Faye, Mallory Claire and Matthew Joseph Russo; 3 siblings, Linda Wright of Hagerstown, Douglas Darrell Dungan of Pacific, MO and Penny Jo (David) Lanning of Rushville; brother in-law Ernie Taylor of McMinnville, TN several nieces, nephews and cousins. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Darrell Dungan on May 31, 2005; mother, Juanita (Burris) Dungan on April 7, 2013; brother, Ricky Chester Dungan on Feb. 25, 2013; sister Linda Louise Taylor on Feb. 8, 2008. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday May 26, 2013 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Interment with full military honors will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday May 29 at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 W. Third Street- Dayton, Ohio 45428.
