Obituary

MILTON - Thomas E. McKee, Jr., 88, of rural Milton passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. He was born in Bentonville, Indiana on May 23, 1925 to Thomas E. and Grace (Miller) McKee, Sr. Thomas graduated Bentonville High School with the class of 1943. Thomas served his country as a combat engineer with the United States Army during World War II. On December 31, 1946, he married the former Helen Lamberson in Lewisville. Thomas was a lifelong farmer and worked at Wayne Works for thirty years before his retirement. He was owner of the Cambridge City Antiquarian and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife; children, Pamela J. Hicks of Cambridge City, Michael E. (Yvonne) McKee of Connersville, Charles T. McKee of Milton, Sarah J. McKee of California; grandchildren, Dewana K. McKee, Jessica J. (Chris) Dickerson, Amy M. McKee; great-granddaughter, Claire Y. Dickerson; several nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Gerald McKee on April 25, 2003; grandson, Timothy Hicks on August 6, 1980; brother, William McKee; sister Pauline Houghland. Family and friends may gather at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon. Burial with military honors by the United States Army Honor Guard and the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 will follow at Bentonville Cemetery.
