RICHMOND- Thomas DeWayne Gardner, 68, passed away in the afternoon on Friday, April 22nd, 2022, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. Thomas was born in Richmond to the late Reid Frazier and Betty Lou (Crowder) Gardner on January 26th, 1954. Thomas graduated from Richmond High School in 1972 and obtained a certificate in Cosmetology. Thomas made his home in Mount Comfort for several years prior to returning to Richmond. He worked for Wayne Works in Richmond delivering buses throughout the country and then later worked in retail sales. Thomas had a lifelong love for animals and enjoyed growing his plants in the garden. Thomas was a people person and enjoyed playing pool and having a good time in life.

Thomas is survived by four siblings, Gary L., Gaylene, Lynn A., and Kimberly S. Gardner: several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Thomas is preceded in death by a brother, Donald A. Gardner Sr.; and an infant-nephew, Shawn Gardner.

Upon Thomas's request, a private visitation will be held at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin where cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorial contributions to be made to HELP The Animals Shelter P.O.
