DUBLIN- Thelma May Walters, 80, of Dublin, Indiana, passed away at home surrounded by her family on August 23, 2024.

Thelma was born on December 16, 1943 to James I. Hobson and Genevieve Hobson Martin in Connersville, Indiana. Thelma graduated from Connersville High School. She married the love of her life, Larry Walters, on June 28th, 1964. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Thelma worked at Paul's Casket Company in Cambridge City for many years. She then spent 17 years at Western Wayne Schools as a cafeteria worker, where she made friendships with a special group of ladies who she cared for deeply.

Thelma was the epitome of a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished time with her family above all. She was a member of the American Legion Post 169 Auxiliary Club, The Dublin Community Club, and the Do-Gooders Club. She loved spending time with her family, baking her famous Apple Cake, collecting Fenton glassware, embroidering, and crafting.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Buthyle Hobson, Kathryn Taylor, and James Hobson Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; her daughter Lynn (Russell) Adams; two granddaughters, Jessica (Kevin) Raymond and Paige (Taylor) Goldey; 4 great-grandsons, Camden Dale, Jace Goldey, Hayes Goldey, and Nolan Raymond.

Family and friends may call from 4-7p.m. on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024, and from noon until the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28th. Both will be held at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will be at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
