IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Susan Rene
Sheffler
September 28, 1958 – March 9, 2024
INDIANAPOLIS- Susan Rene Sheffler, 65, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 9th, 2024. Although she could not physically walk due to cerebral palsy, she spiritually walked with her beloved Jesus. Susan was born in Vincennes, Indiana, on September 28th, 1958. She cherished being around family and friends for a variety of activities, special events and occasions and especially liked to celebrate her birthday. Acquaintances and people who knew Susan were blessed by her smile, laughter, and love for life. She enjoyed attending school, going to prom,
reading, painting, coloring, swimming, participating on a bowling team as well as going to concerts, movies, and amusement parks. She took the opportunity to try new things like riding in an airboat and water tubing. She looked forward to family vacations at Dale Hollow Lake that included houseboats, camping, or staying in a cabin and boating. Most of all, Susan loved to attend church to sing hymns, learn more about Jesus and fellowship with other believers.
She was a member of the College Park Baptist Church in Indianapolis. Susan will truly be missed by all, but her memory will continue to bless the lives of everyone who knew her.
She was the beloved daughter of Richard Lee and Shirley Jean (Ball) Sheffler; sister of Donald Sheffler, Teresa (Greg) Holz, Angela (Sam) Wagoner; aunt of Kaitlyn Holz, Sean Wagoner, Kristin Kellar, Andrew and Emily Wagoner, and great aunt of Claire Kellar, and Alexander Wagoner.
Susan was preceded in death by her mother on Dec. 6th, 2023.
Arrangements for Susan include a visitation at 10 a.m. until time of service at noon on Wednesday March 13th, 2024, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home Lewisville Chapel. Brother in-law, Sam Wagoner will officiate. Graveside service will follow at Lewisville Cemetery.
