BENTONVILLE – Susan Jane Brown, 80, passed away Friday morning, August 4th, 2023, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. A daughter of the late John and Josephine (Walters) Petersen, Susan was born December 24th, 1942, in New Castle, Indiana. She graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1960. After graduating, she married David Brown at the Bentonville Christian Church on April 23rd, 1961. She had worked at Bentonville Farm Supply, but her most fulfilling job was raising her children and helping her husband on the farm. In her leisure, she loved spending time with family, mushroom hunting with her friends, and watching animals, especially hummingbirds.   She was a member of the New Lisbon Christian Church.

Susan is survived by her husband of 62 years, David; 2 children, Debbie (Craig) Lunsford and Rick (Lisa) Brown; 1 sister, Linda (Rick) Hughett; 5 grandchildren, Mitch (Laura) Brown, Tucker (Meghan) Brown, Connor (Fiancé Amanda Rose) Brown, Todd (Amanda) Lunsford, Bekah (Levi) Thompson; 5 great grandchildren, Camden and Drew Lunsford, Ian Thompson, Chloe and Mara Brown; 1 great-granddaughter on the way; several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Brett Thomas Petersen, on December 26th, 1999.

Visitation for Susan will be Wednesday, August 9th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Mark Lomison will officiate. Burial will follow at Bentonville Cemetery.
