STRAUGHN- Steven Keith McNew, 63, passed away at I.U. Ball Hospital in Muncie, Indiana on Saturday December 18th, 2021. Steve was born on April 27th, 1958, in Richmond, Indiana to the late Raymond Keith and Kathryn Elizabeth (Cameron) McNew. Steve worked as a logger, starting his career at the young age of 12 for McNew Logging in Rushville, Indiana, his father's logging company. Steve then worked for Lawhorne Veneer of Fairmont, Indiana. Steve finished his logging career at Mac Mulch in Lewisville, Indiana. Logging just wasn't his career, but it was what he loved to do, he would point to woods as we drove by, telling us they logged that out and who worked with him on those jobs. When Steve could no longer work, he enjoyed watching logging videos and participating in Facebook logging groups. Other than logging, Steve enjoyed spending the rest of his time with his family, friends, going fishing and being on Facebook.

Steve is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nancy (Lakes) McNew. His adoring children; daughter, Stephanie McNew and son, Eric McNew; daughter-in-law, Jes McNew and son-in-law Chris Burton; seven grandchildren, Jazmin McNew, Julius McNew, Juniper McNew, James Cornes, Jaroden Cornes, Jayda Cornes, and Hayden Burton; brother, Mike McNew; sister, Barbara Marshall; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings- Dennis McNew, Kathy Lynn Cole, and Mary Jane Miller.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Tuesday December 21st at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at Laurel North Cemetery- Laurel, Indiana.
