STRAUGHN - Stella Alice (Miller) Wood, 71, of Oregonia, OH, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Otterbein Nursing Home in Lebanon, OH following a lengthy illness. Stella was born in Eadston, KY on December 31, 1943 and grew up in the Straughn community. She graduated from Straughn High School with the class of 1962, Ball State University, Muncie, IN; and the Rapid City, SD, Business College. Through the years, she worked as an Elementary Teacher, a Corporate Training Developer and Instructor, and as a Corporate Training Coordinator. Survivors include her husband Raymond J. Wood, whom she married in 1965 in New Lisbon, IN; a daughter Rae (Michelle) Neumann, a son Christopher Wood and his two boys, Grant Wood, and Maxim Wood, a sister Carol Flockhart, three brothers: Joe Miller of New Castle, IN; Marcus (wife Susan) Miller of Richmond, IN; and David (wife Libby) Miller of New Castle, IN; a very close aunt she grew up with and always considered to be her sister, Aline Fournier of Warwick, RI. Stella was preceded in death by her parents: Walter Joe Miller and Bertha (Martt) Miller, a sister Jeannettea. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 115 West US Hwy 40, Lewisville, IN, with visitation from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
